ABOUT ME

My name is Joel Burri. I am a Swiss graphic designer and illustrator, living and working in Vienna. I studied visual communication at the Lucerne University of Applied Scienes and Arts in Switzerland. After graduating, I moved to Austria and have since worked for different Austrian and Swiss design agencies, as well as numerous private clients. I specialize in branding, editorial design, and other finely-crafted print and digital services. I am very keen on experimenting with various approaches to creating individual visual languages for each client, such as specialized illustrations and collages or custom typography creations.

My work philosophy is based on a “do-it-yourself-approach”; before turning to stock-material or other creative people, I do things myself – which lets me grow with every new project and helps me express my personal understanding of design through and with the individual work of my clients.

If I had a work bucket-list, the number 1 and 2 on it would be to design a cookbook – or illustrate a children’s book.
